The best bet for this however is the Lumix GH-1, though much more expensive. The low light and EVF should take care of all the low light and focusing issues but I doubt the kit lens is going to be a hit as at full zoom, the aperture is f/5.8. This clearly cannot handle the lighting situation on stage.
